Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructors

Marcus Soares is a 1st generation 9th Dan Carlson Gracie Brazilian jiu-Jitsu Instructor who has trained and taught all over the world.  Marcus is the head Canadian instructor and visits Zen annually.

David Dash is a 2nd generation Carlson Gracie black belt who has been training and competing all over the world since 2005 . David is the head jiu-jitsu instructor at Zen and teaches adult, youth and kids classes.

Leo has been training with the Carlson Gracie team since 2011.  He is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu purple belt.  Leo is also a brown belt in Tankyushin a composite of Akido, Judo and Karate. Leo teaches adult fundamental gi classes. 

Diego is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt. Diego teaches kids classes.

Nick has been training with the Carlson Gracie team since 2016.  He is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu blue belt. Nick teaches adult no gi, as well as kids and youth classes. 

Luke has been training with the Carlson Gracie team since 2021 and is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt. Luke teaches kids classes.

Chad has been training with the Carlson Gracie team since 2016 and is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt. Chad teaches kids classes.

Phil is military officer with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He has been training with the Carlson Gracie team since 2023 and is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu 4 stripe white belt. Phil teaches youth classes.

Jeff has been training with the Carlson Gracie team since 2023 and is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu 3 stripe white belt and a Judo green belt. Jeff teaches kids classes.
